A Fantastic Night at Up Close Theatre's Club Night!

Great fun at the blind read!
Last Friday's Up Close Theatre Club Night was a huge success, with a great turnout and plenty of laughter! ๐ŸŽ‰ We had the pleasure of doing a blind read of Sheila's Island by Tim Firthโ€”a brilliantly witty and sharp comedy that kept us all entertained from start to finish. ๐Ÿ˜‚

For those unfamiliar with the play, Sheila's Island is a hilarious yet darkly comic story about four middle-aged women stranded on a team-building exercise gone terribly wrong. Think Lord of the Flies, but with office politics, passive-aggressive power struggles, and a lot more sarcasm! ๐Ÿ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Doing a blind read meant diving into the script without prior preparation, leading to some truly spontaneous and often hilarious moments. ๐Ÿคฃ The gathered performers did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life, capturing their quirks and personalities with real energy and enthusiasm. ๐Ÿ‘

A huge thank you to everyone who came along! ๐Ÿ™Œ If you missed out this time, don't worryโ€”keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram, and website diary ๐Ÿ“… for details of our next Club Night. We'd love to see you there! ๐ŸŽญโœจ

It was also wonderful to welcome a couple of new faces ๐Ÿ˜Š, who joined us just to listen, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy a drink at The Hunters Inn. ๐Ÿท That's exactly what Club Nights are all aboutโ€”whether you want to perform, write, or simply enjoy an evening of theatre in great company, everyone is welcome! โค๏ธ
